The Rabbit Events Ambassador position involves delivering educational sessions with a focus on community involvement. Programs typically lasts 1.5 - 2 hours and are located across the metro area. Volunteers will work with a team to ensure a valuable and enjoyable experience for both participants and educators.
Responsibilities:
Deliver educational programs and materials about rabbits for diverse audiences, including but not limited to: pet owners, potential adopters, various organizations, and the general public. MCRS has a number of educational programs ready: Bunny Basics, Bunny Bonding, Education for Kids devised for Animal Humane Society Summer Camps, and a program for college students.
Conduct presentations, workshops, and training sessions to promote responsible rabbit ownership, proper care, and welfare. Coordinate with other volunteers and the hosting organization to ensure smooth program delivery.
Encourage participation and engagement throughout the session.
Provide guidance and answer questions related to rabbit care and welfare.
Qualifications:
Flexible schedule to accommodate education opportunities.
Passion for rabbits and commitment to promoting their welfare.
Comfortable working with children and adults and facilitating educational activities.
Reliable transportation to travel to various locations across the metro area.
Ability to lift boxes and presentation materials and assist with event set-up including tables, tents, chairs, and litter boxes.
Knowledge of rabbit behavior, care requirements, and welfare issues preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences
Have attended MCRS Bunny Basics and Bunny Bonding training.
